You come in, put the shopping down and press ‘Evening’ by the door. The downlights drop to a warm low, the lamps come up, the blinds close on the road-facing windows, music starts in the kitchen and the heating nudges up a degree. One press, not five apps and a hunt for the right remote.

- The system we reach for most in larger homes. It brings lighting, shading, audio, video, climate and security into one platform, controlled from touchscreens, keypads, phones or voice. Halo is an authorised Crestron dealer.
- Savant
- A premium platform with a notably approachable app, strong multi-room audio and its own climate control. The Savant Pro Remote handles lighting, entertainment, climate and scenes from one device, with separate profiles for each member of the family. Halo is an authorised Savant dealer.
- Control4
- A widely deployed automation platform with one of the largest ecosystems of compatible devices and a straightforward, well-liked app. A strong, cost-conscious route to whole-home control where a full Crestron or Savant system is more than the house needs. Ian is Control4 certified.
- AVA
- The most accessible way into whole-home control, and the one to ask about if a full Crestron or Savant system is more than the house needs. One remote covers television, music, lighting and heating, there are no monthly fees of any kind, and it's installed and set up ready to use rather than left for you to configure. AVA is only ever sold through certified installers, and Halo is Jersey's.
